Fintech Hive, a subsidiary of the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), the first and largest accelerator within the financial technology sector in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region, announced that it will host the leading annual “Investor Day” event that will be held in the world of “Metaverse” for the first time. First.
The Investor Day event represents a graduation platform for the programs launched by DIFC’s Fintech Hive, which is a favorable opportunity for investors to communicate closely and review the innovations of emerging companies that succeeded in reaching the final nomination list.
The event, which is an interactive digital experience, will be launched on November 10, 2022, with the participation of 41 virtual avatars of the founders of startups participating in the center’s “FinTech Accelerator 2022” program. Participants will display their innovative technologies on virtual models of investors, industry leaders, financial partners and program identifiers. The event also provides major financial partners in the Middle East with an opportunity to learn about ideas that startups from the financial technology sector will present through the world of “Metaverse”, as well as invite them to attend a virtual exhibition to explore ideas and interact directly with the founders of these companies.
The Financial Technology Accelerator program of the DIFC is keen to form a platform that brings together the most unique start-ups from around the world with leading financial services companies in the region such as banks, investment companies and insurance companies, enabling them to work together to develop, test and design innovations and open field of new and promising growth opportunities.
In this year’s edition, the program attracted entrepreneurs from a range of industries including FinTech, Regulatory Technology and Islamic Financial Services Technology from all over the world. The shortlisted companies, which were selected based on a rigorous and competitive evaluation process, addressed key technical innovation topics including Open Banking; insurance technology; organizational technology; digital assets; environmental, social and corporate governance practices; wallets and digital payments; credit score; investment technology and many more, to play a decisive role in shaping the future of the financial services sector.
The list of program partners for this year includes HSBC Bank, Visa, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Zurich Insurance Group, Emirates Post Group, Commercial International Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, Dubai Islamic Bank, Al Masraf and Mashreq Bank.
In conjunction with the “Accelerators Program 2022”, the “Vintech Hive” of the Dubai International Financial Center also concluded the “ScaleUp 2022” program, in which 10 leading startups competed in a financing round of the A+ category represented by “Wamda” and “Gulf Capital” Dubai Cultiv8, Impact 46, Dubai Future District Fund and Shurooq Partners. These start-ups are based in Belgium, Jordan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, Fintech Hive’s “Accelerate Hair” program continued to empower young female talents by engaging 35 women in more than 20 technical workshops in which they received individual guidance from industry leaders with the aim of enriching their ideas and playing a greater role in shaping the future of the service sector Finance.
